We all know that EMS faces many challenges: low paying wages, not being considered an essential service in many states, having no standard structure when it comes to funding, etc. Evading responsibility and blaming these factors for our failures as leaders would be easy and valid. However, many agency leaders are thriving in this environment. How? Why? These thriving leaders are focused on what they can control, naturally growing their circle of influence.
