Episode Synopsis "The World Needs MORE ARTISTS: How do we do that? "
My second solo-episode is a "hang-my-flag" moment. I talk about what I'm all about; and, I tell a story about a hypothetical university/college graduate who is just stepping-in the door to the working world. It's decision-time for them; and, there are forces that will shape those decisions, whether the person (the artist - but whoever) realizes it or not. In this episode, SEMI-SERIOUS-PERSONA-ME makes an argument that the world could use more artists. But, in order for that to happen, these people need to know the option is there in the first place. Too many people don't have the option for a bunch of legitimate and understandable reasons, but there's another contingent of people who simply don't know that they can choose to pursue their dream. The reality is: there are forces that tell these people to pay their dues before they can think about going after what they REALLY want to do. My point is that there are barriers that could be removed if only the world could figure out a way to support these talented people - the people who invent things that we love and make the world a more enjoyable place to live and work... well, we could all have more of THAT if we helped the talented people who make these things to have the time and space to DO THEIR WORK. I'll let the piece do the rest of the talking. Now... onto the next one. Take care, Everyone. --- An ARTIST can't hesitate to ask for help; especially when they're just starting... If you'd like to help me in the early days of developing my practice as a digital artist - thank you! I'm just starting out, so I appreciate all the donations from the little PayPal button on my website, glennfriel.com. It's my only revenue-stream at the moment. All the stuff you're seeing me do to help people develop their careers is volunteer stuff; so, I appreciate everyone helping me get through this planned-no-revenue period. And, if you see something you like in my videos or this podcast; and, you think there's a way we can work together somehow - I'm all ears and I'm open to suggestion. I just WORK. I stay positive and grateful; and, I'm hela-creative and industrious. If that gets you going, then send me an email at [email protected] so we can explore the possibility of making a difference with OUR art! Posting this early material is a huge turning-point in my career as a digital artist: I'll have a podcast, YouTube channel, written-pieces on my website, and I'm chipping-away at my first audio book. I'm also starting to establish the consulting portion of my new career; but, more on that later when I've had the right amount of time to make some decisions. Take care, Everyone. ~glenn
