Listen "Skin Cancer and Body Acceptance"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I sit down with Melissa Kultgen, Melanoma champion and advocate. Melissa Kultgen grew up in toxic "tan culture" and recklessly tried to become tan to feel prettier and to fit in. At 27 and 3 weeks postpartum, she was told "I'm sorry, Hun, but you have cancer . . . Melanoma" after having a lump removed from above her lip. She underwent several surgeries and a year of immunotherapy to remove the cancer. She now is a 7-year Melanoma Survivor and advocates for skin cancer prevention, early detection, and research. She also shares about her mental health journey as she has learned to appreciate and take care of her body again. We talk about her experience, skin cancer prevention and body acceptance post cancer.
