Episode Synopsis "005: Teacher Fired over No Zero Grade Policy"
On September 14, 2018, 17 year long veteran teacher Diana Tirado was terminated from her job as a US History teacher at West Gate K-8 School in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. She was on a probationary contract and was not given a reason for her termination. On her last day of work, Diane decided to share her reason for why she was fired through a message to her students that she wrote on a dry erase board. She then took a picture of the message and sent it to her students through a class app. That message has been shared through social media and other news outlets, and now Diane is getting a lot of attention from what has happened. In this episode, the details of what has been released are broken down and so is the response from Port Saint Lucy’s superintendent Wayne E. Gent. Resources: St. Lucie.
