Episode Synopsis "Accent Reduction tips: my top 1p"

Learning English Should Be Fun My Top 10 Tips for Improving Your Spoken English Listen Listen to the news, English  podcasts, good native English speakers and   songs. Remember the more you listen, the more you will learn. So in every occasion try to be an active listener and repeat what you hear imitating the pronunciation, the sound, the stress on the word by the speaker too. That phrase comes to mind “Monkey See, Monkey Do” is now  “Monkey Hear Monkey speak.” Watch TV & Films There are a number of films done by  Hollywood day in and day out make sure that you watch these films to listen to the sound of the words pace and emotional and watch it not to enjoy the film but to note and imitate the position of the mouths..imitate them. Try to avoid putting the subtitles on  if you can as they makes your learning slower as relying on home language to explain things Read Out loud daily You need to find something to read daily; whether it's a newspaper, a blog,Ted Talk transcripts, a book, a play, some  poetry or even a whatsapp message. When you read out loud practice the pronunciation, pace and intonation. Get a buddy to talk to To speak English better you need to be speaking on a regular, if not daily basis to really get the benefit of English. So try to get yourself a friend on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, online somewhere if your friends are not free then  offer an exchange of teaching them your home language. That is how you get your new speaking pen pal and on another point make sure that they're English is better than yours Use technology to help your learning Your phone is your best friend on your journey of improving your speaking English because there are so many apps on smartphones whether you have an  Android or iPhone. Record yourself speaking into the phone, then play it back to yourself and ask your friends to listen and give you feedback. Another tip is to record the same text once a week or month and listen to where you have improve to monitor your growth. Speak always at every time Take every occasion to speak whether  it's at a coffee shop or at work or an email being sent at work then be extra and make a phone call to just confirm the person understood it. I suggest you take every opportunity to speak English with both hands. As an example,  when you're buying a ticket at a train station just talk about how much is it, what is the return price, the route and even mention the weather. Learn a new word daily Pick a word today and practice it in many different sentences  and say in different ways. Practice that word each day until you mastered it then the next week or the next day you can pick  a new word. Remember to always put these words into context and into a full sentence Read a dictionary and  thesaurus daily Dictionaries and thesauruses are your best friend you can get them online very easily.  I suggest that you read at least a page of these every single day. Try to memorise the word then say them out loud  and put them into a sentence. Try to understand what they mean and I find that with dictionaries it shows you how to pronounce it and what I love about  the thesaurus is that it gives alternative synonyms to the word you are actually trying to learn. Do practical activities while learning English (football, tennis, cooking) When you are learning English you need to put it into a practical sense.  So please escape the Classroom and learn your vocab for travel by going on a bus and using all the relevant vocab. Another example is  if you need to learn about food go to a cooking class and make some yummy food and make friends at the same time Debate or talks Go to weekly talks there are hundreds of them on meetup.com to venture into with a wide range of different topics. Try to go to weekly talks  go with the view that you are going to actually talk and also learn new vocab form the way people talk about the topic. Pay attention to the delivery, the passion and the pace etc of the
