Welcome Back to Nuanced Beauty!
TODAY'S EPISODE
Having returned from a recent trip back to Seattle, we noticed this internal tension we both wrestle with around friends versus family. And not so much versus, as in against each other, but moreso, how some people elevate family as highest priority for connection and support, and other folks elevate friends for that role. In the NW it seemed more common for friends to serve as your go-to support network because a lot of people are transplants to the area. Now in the SE, we see that it seems like family holds the highest rank for this support.
We bounce around our thoughts of what's great and unique about both friends and family. And we also explore the topic of community... family... and how the state/governing body for a great of people set policies based on subtly different perspectives on the family unit or the individual within a communal context.
