Listen "13. Unexpected Lessons Learned"
Episode Synopsis
As you reflect on your fitness journey, maybe you’re thinking you should be further along by now? Or, perhaps, you’ve started to develop an unhealthy relationship with food or exercise. Wherever you’re at on your journey, I want to share some unexpected lessons I learned during mine in hopes that you’re able to gain a new perspective for yours. We often start our fitness journey to reach a desired physique, but once we start to change ourselves from within, we get to fully embrace this new lifestyle. If you haven’t learned these lessons yet, it’s only a matter of time! Stay patient, stay consistent, you’ve got this beautiful!
What I cover:
Not everyone will support you or understand your journey, and that’s okay!
Fail, and fail often.
My body image was attached to my past trauma.
Capability over appearance is the true indicator of lifelong progress.
Motivation over discipline, or you’ll never stick with it.
Teamwork makes the dream work! Find your people.
Learn to forgive your past for the way you treated yourself.
Consistency over perfection. An all-or-nothing mentality will be your downfall if you don’t address it.
The Redefine Beautiful Podcast was created to help bridge the gap between physical and mental health. Through personal stories of survival, adaptation, self-discovery and growth, my goal is to help you realize you’re not alone. You matter. Your mental health matters. Together, we are going to redefine beautiful, one episode at a time. xx
