“Working: The Musical” takes center stage at Southeast Missouri State University, exploring the hopes, dreams, and everyday struggles of America’s workforce. Based on Studs Terkel’s classic book, the production shines a light on ordinary people with extraordinary stories. Professor of Acting, Movement, Stage Combat, and Directing at SEMO, Bart Williams, leads the production, guiding students through a powerful, character-driven performance that celebrates the dignity and diversity of working life. Through song and story, audiences are invited to reflect on what it means to find purpose and pride in the work we do.
