Listen "Dietitian Cafe #RD2B - A career in eating disorders?"
Episode Synopsis
In today’s episode, we will continue to explore the different dietetic specialities, and in light of the recent eating disorders awareness week from 27th February, we will be delving into the specialty of eating disorders. It is estimated by the UK’s eating disorder charity Beat that 1.25 million people in the UK have an eating disorder of some form, which is a really shocking statistic, don’t you think? It seems only right that student dietitians understand more about eating disorders and the wonderful work that dietitians do in this space. To talk about all of this, we are joined by Beth Francois, a highly specialist eating disorders dietitian.Beth is a specialist eating disorder dietitian, currently working at a daycare service in London. She completed an MSc in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition before qualifying as a registered dietitian from Kings College London at the beginning of 2020. She has worked within the field of eating disorders in various roles, including a dietetic assistant, across different settings including inpatient and outpatient treatment for the past 6 and a half years.
