Simon Lim speaks to George Goh Ching Wah, a man born in a poor family who eventually became a chairman of several companies. A true rags to riches story. George Goh grew up in a small kampong in a poor family with nine children, and his parents had to give away two sisters as they could not afford them. He even dropped out of school to become a general worker in a shoe-manufacturing factory to support his family. At the time of this interview, George Goh Ching Wah, was the Founder and Deputy Chairman of Harvey Norman Ossia. Mr. Goh was also the Ambassador to Morocco, and the Executive Chairman of Internet Technology Group. Mr. Goh has also owned seven listed companies. One who had humble beginnings himself, Mr. Goh believes in helping the community. He and his wife started Border Mission, a charity organisation to help the needy. He is also a mentor to young people of today.
