As race relations took center stage in American politics during the summer of 2016, residents of one of the communities that in the 1960s and ’70s led the U.S. in efforts to achieve integration -- Oak Park, Illinois, which borders on Chicago’s mostly African-American Austin neighborhood -- convened a community forum on the future of integration.
