Listen "Ep 39 - Is My Content Process Good Enough"
Episode Synopsis
Here are several ways you can evaluate if your content process is "good enough" over time:
Has the "floor" of my content been raised. Meaning, when you look at content metrics like views, reactions, and your comments of your WORST performing posts, are they higher than what they were before? Here's where I'm at... at the beginning of the year, my "worst performing" posts had around 600 views each. So far in August, my worst performing posts are around 1,250. So my "bad content" has doubled it's impact
Have I been able to do it for a month? If I've come up with a new variation of my process, I want to make sure I've been able to roll with it for a month before I can decide whether or not it's sustainable. That takes patience, but waiting that long also helps teach discipline.
Does the process help relieve a burden? Processes should be enabling, and a good content process allows you to feel like you are "getting it done". One of the dangers in marketing is you feel like you could always just write one more post, send one more tweet, make one more comment... That's a big burden to carry if you feel like you need that to do a good job.
These are just ways I've used to evaluate my own process.
Do you have any questions about it?
