He is a former first-class New Zealand cricketer and is currently pursuing his coaching dream in the USA with ambitions to play and coach the USA national team. In the 2nd episode of Season 2 in Life Behind the Pitch, Marty talks about his cricket journey with host Aryan, his switch from NZ Cricket to the USA to play cricket and how he had to start his own cricket coaching academy in San Diego, USA. Also, in the show, Marty gives advice to young cricketers struggling with mental health and Marty and Aryan do an exciting rapid-fire round.
