Episode Synopsis "Troubles (I am not joking) "
Actually, I might be joking. It’s been a time of transition and I haven’t written an I, Bodger in a while. So here, along with the above experimental musical accompaniment, is an interim update:On Halloween—a bright, clear, calm day—my old friend from college, Steve Clearman and his son Sam, along with Sam’s girlfriend Catherine, flew up for the day from Kinderhook, New York in their Cessna single prop four-seater. It only took them 1 1/2 hours to fly to nearby Mt. Washington Regional Airport! (It takes me 6 1/2 hours to drive from here to NYC.) Both Steve and Sam have pilot licenses. I should have gotten a picture of them with their plane. Steve convinced me it was time to get a new truck. My reliably great photographer friend Fletcher Manley came by a couple times, as we tried to get a proper “archival shot” of gargoyle #2, a difficult feat of Photoshopping to get the background right. Due to an unforeseen turn of events, the installation of the gargoyles on the old bank building seems to be postponed for the moment, with a new date yet to be determined: For myself, I have been playing my old Harmony H922 12-string guitar with a newly-cut nut extension of my own confection (I got this old birchwood box with a broken neck for sixty bucks off eBay a while ago): This is a public episode.
