In this episode, Ian speaks with James Fallows how the symbiotic relationships between colleges and their communities have reaped rewards in Erie, Pennsylvania, Waterville, Maine, and all over the United States over the last few decades. James is a longtime correspondent for The Atlantic magazine and is the author of numerous books including “Our Towns” (2018), which was also made into an HBO documentary. Previous to that, James was the editor of U.S. News & World Report, and he served as President Jimmy Carter's chief speechwriter for 2 years.
