Listen "Reclaiming [Reforming] Worship (w/Stephen Connell)"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, we take a closer look at something every Christian participates in but few examine closely: worship. Every Sunday, we sing together, pray together, and hear God’s Word, but sometimes we get distracted from what it’s really about, especially when it comes to music.Modern worship is louder, brighter, and more produced than ever, and while that can be engaging and beautiful, the style and spectacle can also pull our attention away from the purpose of worship. Recognizing these patterns gives us a chance to pause and ask deeper questions: why do we worship the way we do, and how can we align our worship with the Word of God?We’ll explore what it means to worship in spirit and truth, why Scripture calls us to this kind of worship, and how reconsidering our approach, our songs, our practices, and our focus can change our whole perspective on worship. Some embrace modern trends, some are more cautious, and some are just beginning to think about these things, but all of us benefit when we stop, reflect, and let the Word of God shape our worship.Book Recommendation: The Sing!
