Listen "024: What Is It About Grief That Makes Us Bitter?"
Episode Synopsis
When it comes to grief, it seems that bitterness often accompanies it for some people and what is so tragic is that when bitterness becomes so deeply engrained they just seem to drift away from many of the things that they used to care about. For example, one of the first things that is often dropped is church. I mean a once engaged person at church may stop coming because they just feel so angry that God allowed their loved one to die. Or they are bitter about their divorce and want to isolate themselves from their friends, loved ones and at times their children depending on what stage of life they are in. They are bitter and everything that once mattered no longer does and they can’t understand the point. In their defense, living in our society it is so easy to become bitter when your heart is broken and you can’t make sense of what doesn’t make sense. And when you don’t have the right voices in your life moving into bitter can become our safe place if we’re not careful. Interested in the Superpatch mentioned in today's episode?
