Episode Synopsis

Amir, the protagonist of the fiction novel, The Kite Runner, rehearsed in his mind his own failure to intervene; when at the age of 12, he watched as his friend was violently abused in a forsaken alley. In his fear, he did nothing and his failure to act haunted him. “Looking back now, I realize I have been peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty-six years.” Christians remain haunted by the failures and sins of their past and cannot seem to break free. David had to deal with his own failures when he was forced to flee from his son, Absalom, who had usurped the throne from his father. In this context David penned the 3rd Psalm. Those ancient words still provide us great counsel as we wrestle with the failures of our own past. Join us for part one of the six-part series, With the Psalmist We Prayand this week’s message Sustained and Unashamed
