Foundling: Found

Julian Brown is a care-leaver and a Story of Care Ambassador for Voices Through Time, I’m from Newmarket in West Suffolk. I’m interested in Politics and the future of the care system: how present and past perceptions of those in care has an impact on how society as a whole has a view on young people in care. Also, how living in care affects the rest of your life in different aspects and how the journey of care can affect your life. My project is a podcast called Foundling: Found. It will go through archives from 1739, all the way up to the present day. Looking at the media perceptions of those in care, whether through Tracy Beaker or the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore through to newspaper articles and influencers. As well as, young people with experience of care themselves, hearing their stories and feedback on what they think the media perception of care has been like for them.
