Listen " Fear of Ageing Forward After 50"
Episode Synopsis
I had the privilege to hear the stories of ten inspiring women while researching my book Forward after 50. We discussed many of the aspects positive and negative of being a woman over fifty. However, fear of the changes that age can bring creates negativity and feed into ageism. In this episode, I talk to Dr. Maxine Daniels, whose been continually reinventing herself and breaking barriers along the way. Maxine started life as an actress and worked for ten years in theatre before setting up her own business using actors in training in organisations. At the same time, she trained as a psychodrama/psychotherapist. She worked in the forensic field in prisons and hospitals, delivering treatment programmes. Maxine completed her doctorate at age 50 and still works as a Consultant Psychotherapist in resilience and forensics. She has two daughters in their 20's. One who lives in Madrid, and the other is a jazz trumpet player, leading the way for female trumpeters in a male world!
