This week we chat to founder and coach at CrossFit Glasgow Iain Barbour about what CrossFit is to us as trainers. This is by no means a short or concise description but an exploration of the training methodology from our experience as trainers in how it applies to everyone. From top level athletes to those entering the later decades of life and everyone in between.
We dig into some great recommendations fro the everyday athlete and those returning to training after the lockdown or any period of decreased training
From the beginning, the aim of CrossFit has been to forge broad, general and inclusive fitness through the prescription of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity across broad time and modal domains
Its a training methodology that really prioritises GPP aka general physical preparedness, the ability to do more in more situations, prepare for any challenge in aport or life.
and increase your work capacity across a lifetime.
We start the conversation looking at how Iain found CrossFit and then discuss how the training applies to competitive athletes before we discuss how this can apply to all the rest of us.
