This occasional lecture by Dr Johannes Lübking, Head of Unit at DG Competition of the European Commission, on the subject “Restoring Competition on the markets: Antitrust and Merger Remedies” was given at Emmanuel College on 31 October 2017. Dr Johannes Lübking, LL.M. (EUI), is head of DG Competition's antitrust unit in the energy and environment sectors. He is leading a number of antitrust and cartel investigations in the European electricity, gas and bioethanol markets. Prior to joining the unit in 2015, Mr Lübking headed various merger units, including the Merger Case Support and Policy unit. He coordinated the Commission’s merger cases and policy projects in the field of merger control, such as the management of DG COMP’s role as co-chair of the ICN Merger Working Group and the preparation of the Commission's White Book on the review of the Merger Regulation. He previously dealt with the 2008 review of the Commission’s Remedies Notice as well as the Commission's merger cases and policy projects in the field of merger control, such as the management of DG COMP’s role as co-chair of the ICN Merger Working Group and the preparation of the Commission's White Book on the review of the Merger Regulation.
