Previously, she served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Before joining the Department of State in 2010, Alex worked on nuclear policy issues at the Ploughshares Fund and the Center for American Progress. She is also an alumna of the ELN's Younger Generation Leaders Network (YGLN). Elena Chernenko, Special Correspondent at the Kommersant daily newspaper in Moscow, where she focuses on issues of cybersecurity, non-proliferation and arms control and recently conducted interviews with the leading US, Russian, and Chinese nuclear negotiators. She is also a Member of Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy (SVOP) and the Council of the PIR-Center, as well as the ELN Contact Group on Russia-West Relations. Ambassador Marjolijn van Deelen, European Union Special Envoy for Non-proliferation and Disarmament. Until recently, she headed the Non-proliferation, Disarmament and Nuclear Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands where her responsibilities included all WMD-related Dutch foreign policy. Last year, she was also appointed Dutch Ambassador for the Non-Proliferation Treaty. She is designated Vice-President of the next NPT Review Conference chairing the Main Committee on peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Gaukhar Mukhatzhanova, Director of the International Organizations and Non-Proliferation Program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS). Gaukhar is a renowned expert in international non-proliferation and disarmament organisations, regimes, and negotiations.
