After an incident where a Yong'An family is brutally killed, a war breaks out. Xie Lian decides to descend from heaven in order to help the Xian Le royal army push back the Yong’An refugees. However, Xie Lian is lured into a trap and is confronted by Lang Ying, the leader of the Yong’An army, and a mysterious ghost wearing funeral robes and a laughing crying mask. A young soldier arrives to save Xie Lian, but they are trapped inside a cave when Xie Lian gets poisoned by the Land of the Tender Demon. Feng Xin and Mu Qing luckily arrive in time to save them. After a few days of rest, Xie Lian decides to go to the capital for a break, and bumps into the young soldier again.
