In the article, "Connectedness in the Age of Ecological Entanglement", Dr. McCann looks at how the global outbreak of coronavirus has resulted from an increasingly interconnected world. Furthermore, Dr. McCann discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has analogues in the ecological world with phenomena like "dead zones", i.e., how run-off from agriculture results in algae blooms that harm aquatic ecosystems hundreds to thousands of kilometres away. Lastly, Dr. McCann highlights the good work done by organizations like ALUS to address these issues.
