1987 U.S. National Champion Kristie Phillips-Bannister joins Better Late with host Pam Majumdar to talk about her return to elite competition in the 2000 Olympics cycle at the age of 27. Kristie talks about her elite gymnastics career leading up to the 1988 Olympics, to cheerleading at LSU, how a dare spurred her comeback, and finding her love of the sport again 10+ years after stopping gymnastics. She discusses the 4 months of physical preparation, 4-6 days per week, that it took for her to be able to do elite-level skills again.
