Listen "Barriers to Biblical Unity - #1: Sin"
Episode Synopsis
EP 9 - In my last episode, I focused on defining Biblical unity: the intentional forging of a diverse community committed to mutual value, love, and acceptance. It’s not just an ideal—it’s a way of living, cultivated through spiritual discipline and transformation with Jesus. But if unity is so central to God’s design, why do we struggle so much to experience it?In this episode, I’m diving into what I believe is the greatest barrier to Biblical unity—sin. Sin separates us from dwelling with God and from one another. It’s not people who are the root cause of disunity; it’s the presence of sin in our hearts, communities, and systems. And because unity is a spiritual pursuit, our response to sin must also be spiritual.I’ll share stories that highlight the real challenges of multiracial unity in the church, unpack scriptural truths about the impact of sin, and offer a powerful action step to help us move toward healing and transformation.Join me as we begin this critical conversation—because unity isn’t just about being together. It’s about becoming a people where God’s Spirit dwells.I’ve also created a four-week beginner-level inductive Bible study called What is Biblical Unity? In March, I’ll be leading an online small group through this study, and my hope is that God will use this time to transform our hearts and inspire us to lead others in studying and living out Biblical Unity.
