Episode Synopsis "Print to Screen: Roald Dahl's Matilda "
In this episode, we talk about the 1996 screen adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved children's classic, Matilda. With one having (shockingly!) only watched the movie while the other has g̶r̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ read the book as well, we discuss our impressions of this story of a charming, bookish little girl: the aesthetics and politics of its translation from print to screen (and from England to America); Roald Dahl's usage of tropes; and the endearing strangeness of children's fiction.
