Listen "#125: Breaking the silence on menopause in the workplace"

Episode Synopsis

How can workplaces move beyond awareness and take real action to support menopausal women? In this enlightening conversation I’m joined by Swim England’s Head of People, Tracy Lowe Sheppard, to unpack the real challenges menopausal women face at work and the steps organisations can take to create meaningful change. Tracy shares her journey of raising awareness about menopause at Swim England, and why it is such an important topic and area of wellbeing for the organisation to invest in.The work Tracy is doing at Swim England is a fantastic example of how a workplace can create a supportive environment that recognises the value of women in the workforce and the impact of hormonal changes on their professional lives. And as we discuss, the world very much needs women to be able to contribute and know their value beyond midlife and menopause. The key highlights from our conversation are: Menopause is often a taboo subject that needs to be normalised. How organisations can go beyond policies and take action that truly supports employees. The hidden psychological and physical symptoms affecting confidence and career progression. How awareness and education about menopause can significantly impact women's health. Practical, budget-friendly initiatives companies can implement right now. Why men play a crucial role in understanding and supporting women during menopause. Helping women to feel empowered to seek help and support during menopause.
