Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 14.  I will then go over verse 12:  There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.  Friends, this verse is simply telling us that if we don't seek God - Proverbs 3: verses 5 & 6 when situations (or temptations) come our way, that many times we will make mistakes.  Sometimes, these mistakes, which may seem small, can actually lead to very bad things happening in our lives (to include losing your jobs, ending relationships, or - when using a dangerous drug, could even end up costing your life).  I will then continue our study in James Chapter 1: verses 12-20.  I will read these verses in their entirety.  Three points that I would like to invite the audience to consider are these:  1.  God does not tempt people - God is good, and He is only good (if you ever feel tempted, know that it is NOT God that is tempting you (that in itself should tell you that you should NOT go through with it); 2.  Every good thing that happens to you is from God - God is taking care of you (Psalm 23: 1).  Please learn to acknowledge that when good things happen to you it is because of the goodness and grace of God, and not by anything you did; 3.  When trials come, we need certain qualities in order to get through them successfully - verse 19 of James 1: verse 19 states:  be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger - listen to the important people in your lives when they share things with you; before you speak, ponder and think about what you will be saying (once words are spoken, they can never be taken back), and slow to anger - (think about when you are in traffic and someone cuts you off abruptly (enough said).
