Listen "Episode 114: "Young Woman and the Sea" Explores the Life of a Revolutionary Hero"
Episode Synopsis
Joachim Rønning and Daisy Ridley haven't always performed at their best. The films 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' directed by Rønning did not make an impact. Similarly, Ridley has kind of vanished from sight since the 'Star Wars trilogy. Now, working together, they create "Young Woman and the Sea," a painting that depicts Trudy Ederle, the first female swimmer to cross the Channel between France and England. With their version of this unique tale, Ridley and Rønning make a full recovery. Why it hasn't been viewed on a large screen before is a mystery. Growing up with her sister Meg and brother Henry, Trudy was the daughter of German immigrants who emigrated to the US.
