Moishie, Brother A, and Auntie Mim have gone underground where they ply the hallucinogenic tea trade in Babylon. Auntie Mim's secret brew is sold in clubs and coffeehouses with hushed whispers and discreet ads.
The story unfolds with the formation of a new band under the watchful eye of Delivery Boy and Fat Face Sandalphon, The Judges, who navigate their way through a transformed music scene. The band members include Sunshine, the genial giant metal drummer, Honey B, the soulful B3 player on synth and vocals, Lefty, the quiet enigmatic woman of bass, Slasher, killer guitar phenom, and Opener, sinister blues harp player.
The story unravels as the Tribe Heads proceed to Joey's alleged final resting place and on to the electrifying performance at the Westbury Music Fair. Emmett witnesses Isis' mysterious rite, The Palace of the Bone of Heaven, as the Judges' journey winds to a close.
