Khelani shares with us her journey: what it was like in the beginning when her parents didn’t understand her condition and couldn’t talk about it with her, leaving her feeling alone to face the physical and emotional pain that dysthymia brings.
From isolating herself from family for years which makes her situation worse,  Khelani started reclaiming what normal should look like: that she can be happy.

In our conversation, what shines through is Khelani’s tireless daily determination to fight this chronic condition, to reclaim her happiness by hanging on to hope through the small things in life and separating her identity from her condition.
