My #BBC radio interview last night with Jenna Myles, we spoke about my fighter jet experience:
On Friday the 3rd of March 2023, I was lucky enough to be able to fly in the L39 Albatros fighter jet with a real TOP GUN Graduate fighter Pilot of the Adversary course.
Some of you will remember Matthew "Whiz" Buckley from the Talk4 Podcast Episode 50. Whiz is a Top Gun Graduate fighter pilot and founder of the No Fallen Heroes Foundation. Whiz is an exceptional person and was kind enough to invite me to Boca Raton Florida at the end of our podcast to fly with him in his L39 Aero Albatros fighter jet.
The experience was incredible. There's no game or sim that does justice to the power of these jets and the feeling of 6.5 G turns and basic fighter manoeuvres that produce high G force. Though I was able to fly the jet myself several times, Whiz took the reins and performed several advanced moves and took us cloud surfing and on a low attack run near Lake Okeechobee.
