I believe Scripture is clear, that the mark of true maturity is loving one another. Jesus said, "They will know that you are My disciples by your LOVE for one another" (see John 13:35). In these days of heated debate and argument, we need to be reminded of the importance of putting others first, esteeming others better than ourselves, walking in forgiveness, and honoring one another (all things that are easier said than done!) If you want a practical way to increase in Godly maturity, I think this is where a huge part of your focus should lie... loving people extravagantly.
