Listen "iPhone evangelism"
Episode Synopsis
Stu and Joel continue to tour through the 2000s and look at how Christians evangelise. The 9/11 attacks signalled the beginning of a new era as the internet came into prominence. As a result, culture changes continued to accelerate and further pluralise an already pluralistic culture. This brought debate about religious extremism, atheism and inevitable changes (and responses) among Christians and the church. 01:42 Cultural Artefact - The internet's impact, especially football06:30 The iPhone10:44 The church responds to culture shifts post-9/1124:06 Pluralism results in a pluralistic approach28:11 The results of the new expressions of church35:00 The New AtheistsWatch this episode on YouTubeDISCUSSED ON THIS EPISODELiverpool F.C.UEFA Champions LeagueSheffield Wednesday F.C.The iPhoneApple NewtonThe Dark KnightHeath LedgerAlan HirschMars Hill ChurchThis Cultural Moment podcastRevisiting Relational Youth Ministry, by Andrew RootLiberation theologyUniversalismMark SayersThe Coming Revolution in Youth Ministry, by Mark Senter IIISam HarrisRichard DawkinsThe God Delusion, by Richard DawkinsChristopher HitchensGod is Not Great, by Christopher HitchensDaniel DennettMySpaceFacebookInstagramTwitterSnapchatTikTokIslamic extremism9/11 attacksLindt cafe seige2005 London Underground bombingsFlying Spaghetti Monster and PastafariansCONTACT USEmail: [email protected]: https://discord.gg/jTD5KNAYVEWebsite: shockabsorber.com.auSoul Revival Shop: soulrevival.shop
