The basic provision of physical care is essential in the raising of a child as it has more to do with availability upon the development and not just present. Fathers must be able to provide emotional completeness, being able to take their children to school and back. Emotional completeness is not only on the positive side it is also a matter of how to deal with failure and depression, peer pressure and being bullied, beaten or teased and you will have to give advice either in words or in action. Becoming a role model is not a choice for every father because by the fact of being the father they automatically become the foundation of the character of whoever they are fathering and its development, thus inevitable becoming the source of inspiration. 
The moment you become a father your choices are not just your own but your children as well. The ability to be decisive and disciplined to be able to make a choice to spend an hour every day with your family not just watching tv or going straight to the bedroom after work. You have to be disciplined enough to know that every day you wake up you are a father and have a duty not just to your wife but to your children as well.
