Episode Synopsis
Rhythm Reset: Module 15Practical Application This Week: “Let’s Figure It Out” Financial Exercise:*This is something that may take a few days. So maybe you do 1 step in a day, or you split one step up over a few days. Look at the past 3-6 months of your bank statements and mark all recurring charges and the amounts. For those the charges that are frequent, but vary in amounts (food, business supplies, etc), find an average. This means opening up your computer, logging into your bank account, finding the “PDF Statement” option, and opening up the last 3-6 months, month by month. As you open each PDF, print it out. You could use highlighters and color code the charges. Maybe all product orders are yellow. Food/Coffee charges from going out with customers are green, supply orders are blue, etc. Look at the past 3-6 months of your bank statements and write down all of your income. Average out your income per avenue stream (sales, commissions, part time job, etc). You may also need to look at PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, etc. Does this mean you’ll probably be looking in several places? Yes. Compare those figures - the money going out, and the money coming in. Bottom line, you should have more coming in, then going out. Again, seems simple, yet give yourself grace as you work through this. If you’re ready to take it a step farther…Write down all the activities you do in your business. Assign a time next to each activity. Then, assign a profit amount to that task. So this would look like, “I do 3 parties a week. It takes me 2 hours each. I profit $100 per party” So that means you’re making $50/Hour, for a total of 6 hours work (3 parties each times 2 hours), and $300/profit per week. That’s pretty straightforward. Another example would be “I share my business opportunity with 5 people per week. It takes me 45-60 minutes each. So that’s about 5 hours a week. I make on average $200 when someone joins me.” If you know that 1 in 5 people join you, than you’re making $200 in a total of 5 hours, thats $40/hour.Another option would be, I unpack & label all the inventory orders that come in weekly, it takes me about 30 minutes, and I make $0. It could also look like you make all the celebration graphics for your team when they hit an achievement, and it takes you about 2 hours/week total, and you make $0. Then Assess the tasks you’re doing, and the time required. Are you spend dollar time on penny tasks? Are there tasks that can be eliminated, automated, or delegated? If you are ready to begin the flourish in your finances, you first have to know what is coming in, and what is coming out. Then, you need to know all the tasks you do in your business, and how much it is costing your or profiting you to do them. At that point, you have the opportunity to decide about what can be delegated, what can be automated, and what can be eliminated.
