In this episode, we unpack the findings of the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer, which highlights a deepening “crisis of grievance” stemming from institutional failures over the past 25 years. Based on insights from 33,000 respondents across 28 markets, the report reveals declining trust in institutions, particularly among lower-income individuals, as economic pressures, globalization, and job insecurity fuel growing discontent. While business remains the most trusted institution, its competence and ethics are under scrutiny. We explore the growing call for systemic change, rising support for activism, and the urgent need for collaboration between business, government, media, and NGOs to rebuild trust.
