Listen "Episode 19 My mother's ring unchained"
Episode Synopsis
Unchain my heart, let me be. Unchain my heart, set me free.... Joe Cocker. In this episode, Nienke sheds light on what we want to emulate from our parents and what we can leave behind. On their 61st wedding anniversary, her mother gave her husband back her wedding ring, deliberately. Because she wanted him to receive from a warm hand, not a cold, dead one. Six days later, she passed away. Nienke's father chose to take off his ring too, after she died and asked a goldsmith to create something new from both rings. That same week, Nienke's ring broke into two pieces. After a solid self-investigation, she chose to wear her mother's ring. Leaving behind what wasn't working and creating a new relationship with the past. We are all responsible for how we show up in the world, to others, ánd to ourselves. With Phoenix Frequencies, Nienke van Bezooijen shines her light on what we can do to be the best versions of ourselves based on how we show up and what we are willing to learn. It isn't about showing the way with pretended positivity, it is the heart-based vulnerability-sharing options. It takes courage to rise. See what is for you. Or share with others. Perfect doesn't exist; curiosity can be the stepping stone to broaden your perspectives. Courage to move on from the past,Trust to be with the present,Rise to create a new future.
