Episode Synopsis

In this episode of Both Success And Integrity With Bessi Graham, Bessi discusses why you cannot be the best at everything and how you can embrace imperfection. So much of the advice, for want of a better word that we are being given as leaders, is actually deeply unhelpful. In the book, "Uncommon Service", authors Frances Frey and Anne Morriss posit that no business or organization can be excellent at everything.  In fact, it's just not possible. Thus, the challenge really, is to choose that at which you are going to be bad. Also in this episode: You can't be all things to all people Strategy is about saying no to good things How you can choose what you're going to prioritize Why we have to stop perpetuating "overachieving" behavior even though there is an element of truth in widely held business advice.
