Listen "Basis of Hindu Muslim Relations"

Episode Synopsis

Right from early 20th century, Muslim organisations upped the ante to claim they were a special class and needed special treatment. From this they went to claim themselves to be a separate and equal nation. With an effete response from the national leadership of Congress, this culminated into partition. Even after independence, the Muslim leadership has continued on the same course, demanding special recognition. From Milli Tashakkhus to Mazhabi Pahchan to the recent interaction with RSS, it has stayed the same. Prof. Bharat Gupt and Fayaz Ahmad Fyzie discuss an enduring basis of the Hindu-Muslim relationship with Sanjay Dixit - on the basis of Constitution, and not on the basis of Shari'a.
