A conversation with Gavin Gant, Global Controller for Amphenol Antenna Solutions. Gavin has been with Amphenol for 17 years and is based in England. We talk about the job of a controller and how it allows him to take the day-to-day financial data and turn it into something useful to support the GMs and businesses. We talk about his role in helping the AAS business units, including recently-acquired RFS Technologies, to continue taking market share in the global antenna market by having them ask, "What would Gavin do?" We talk about his unique path to accounting by starting as an accounts assistant who showed enough potential to have his education funded by his employer, and ended up being the fourth-ranked accountant in the world...sort of.
