You are to look forward not back. As a Christian, you have a personal sense of destiny. You know where you are going because you have eternal security. You have a race to run and your objective is to cross the finish line. This is your destiny. Keep your eyes on Christ. “Looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith” (Heb 12:2). The greatest joy you can have is to fulfill the plan of God.  When you grow spiritually you assume the personality profile of Jesus Christ and this is “the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, meekness and mercy” (Gal 5:22-23). A personal sense of destiny: Your motivation is looking unto Jesus Christ. Your inspiration is the confident expectation in God’s provisions. Your application is standing on the promises of God.
