Listen "Ep 54 - Faith and Science with Cathy Paul Fijten"
Episode Synopsis
Do you want to know how Faith and science have changed Cathy's Life?
We all have battles to fight. And it's often in those battles that we are most alive: it's on the frontlines of our lives that we earn wisdom, create joy, forge friendships, discover happiness, find love, and do purposeful work.” — Eric Greitens
This quote reflects the journey of a dedicated mother and philanthropist Cathy Paul-Fijten.
Cathy’s roots are in the Netherlands and Colombia. She’s been a Dubai resident for the last 16 years, where she lives happily with her husband John, and their two little daughters. Their youngest daughter is one of the few children in the world living with an ultra-rare genetic condition called ZC4H2 Associated Rare Disorders (ZARD).
Together with her husband John, she founded the ZC4H2 Research Foundation in 2018, with the aim of improving the quality of life of children like their daughter, through facilitating scientific and medical research, increasing awareness about the condition, and supporting families through the dissemination of accurate and relevant information about the condition. The Foundation is now a parent-led non-profit organization registered in the USA and in the EU and operates globally.
Cathy’s wish and mission is to contribute in any possible way to a better life and future for children and families touched by rare diseases, anywhere in the world.
We are delighted to have her on the Come Alive podcast this week.
