Dr. Tania Betancourt is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University. As a Hispanic woman with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Betancourt is part of a small fraction of all scientists and engineers. In addition to being the principal investigator of the Betancourt Research Laboratory, she is also director of PREM, the new program that works to strengthen the pipeline of students in materials science and STEM careers through research and education.
