I am looking at how we can age successfully. “Successful Aging” refers to the process of maintaining a high quality of life as we grow older, characterized by physical health, mental sharpness, emotional well-being, and social engagement.Why is this important to look at?Numerous reputable well-done evidence-based studies have found that focusing on how we approach living our life in our 40s and 50s has a huge impact on the quality of our life in our later years. For instance, research has shown that the quality of your relationships in your 50s is a significant indicator of whether you will feel fulfilled in your 80s. Which to me, as someone in their early 50s, is eye-opening! On this topic, Dr. Daniel Levitin is a renowned author, researcher, and neuroscientist who has recently released an excellent book on the topic. The book is extremely well-researched and evidence-based.
