Howells outstanding performance this season, including a nation-leading 1.15 sacks per game and a career-high 3 sacks against Utah State, has earned him SEC Defensive Line Player of the Week honors four times, setting a new Texas A&M record. He also ranks fourth in the SEC and fifteenth nationally with 12.5 tackles for loss and leads all defensive ends with 6 pass breakups.
