Episode Synopsis
🎙 Straightway Through with Gina — Episode 2: The Sting of Silence: Why Being Left on Read Hurts
You send a message, you see the word Read, and then… silence. That sting hits differently depending on who you are — and for highly sensitive people, it can feel almost unbearable.
In this episode, I sit down with Emma Louise Offler, a caring, deep, and highly sensitive woman who tells us straight how much it hurts to be left on read. We dive into what this triggers emotionally, why it stings so much, and practical ways to ease the suffering it can cause.
If you’re a highly sensitive person (HSP), this episode is going to hit home. Or if you’re in a relationship with an HSP you don’t fully understand, it offers insight into who they are and what has shaped their sensitivity. Whether you’re here to understand the pain of being left on read, to navigate life as a highly-sensitive overthinker, or to relate better to the HSPs in your life, this episode delivers big-time.
**Minute 29 - 37, audio breaks up, but it was a meaningful share so I left it in, giving you the option to listen or skip it.
Meet Today’s Guest:
Emma’s currently going through a transition in life, allowing God to reroute her path. What she thought was her path wasn’t, and that’s all becoming clear now. She loves helping people who have physical pain through massage and movement, and is working on ways to creatively offer this.
When it comes to communication she seeks vulnerability and honesty. She values being able to have deep conversations with people but also talk complete nonsense with good belly laughs when needed. She’s learning to ask for what she needs in her relationships.
