Episode 6: Does Truth Always Hurt?
Episode Summary:
Struggling to share truth in a way people can hear? This week’s episode shows how to speak truth invitationally — connecting and process-oriented rather than demanding or defensive.
Dr. Josephine and I dove into doctor-patient communication and uncovered something powerful: before the roles of doctor or patient, we’re all human first.
Our discussion about being highly sensitive and a bit fiery surfaced insights that anyone navigating similar dynamics will find valuable.
Meet Today’s Guest:
Josephine Ellis, a family medicine physician and personal coach, realized a few years ago that health is about more than managing chronic disease. Certified in lifestyle medicine and currently completing a fellowship in integrative medicine, she has a passion for learning and using that knowledge to help others. She loves piecing together the spirit, soul, and body to unlock healing and promote wellness.
When it comes to communication, understanding is what she seeks most. She has a deep appreciation for truly listening to people so she can hear their stories. The more she understands, the better she is able to help.
Josephine is works on speaking the truth in love - including her tone and attitude especially when she has a preconceived notion or opinion and feels the urge to write someone off.
